What is Port Scanning?
Port scanning checks which network ports are open on a host, revealing what services are running and accessible.
Common ports:
- 80, 443 - HTTP/HTTPS (Web)
- 22 - SSH (Secure Shell)
- 21 - FTP (File Transfer)
- 25, 587 - SMTP (Email)
- 3306 - MySQL Database
- 5432 - PostgreSQL Database
